After twenty years he was able to sell his company and decided to continue at another location in Bergschenhoek. The latest techniques and innovations were used. This made it possible to improve the level of quality to a great extent. The cultivar Grand Prix was planted and this decision proved to be a great success. After six years the roses where replaced for the new cultivar Red Naomi! Which is the red rose in the market. After eight years this company was also sold and a new greenhouse was built in Bleiswijk. Aad’s son, Tom Meewisse, had graduated at the University of Applied Sciences, and joined his father in the company. Together they made a plan to establish a business according to the latest innovative ideas and according to the latest techniques. This was done in order to guarantee top quality roses in the years to come. Beside the more efficient use of fertilizers, the use of energy has been minimized and the amount of waste has been greatly reduced. Furthermore, working conditions were also considerably improved. All of this resulted in a state of the art growing facility which is being used to produce a rose which is equally special. |
